Glendale Heights, a suburb of Chicago, is a village in Illinois’s DuPage County with a population of approximately 34,000. Until the late 1950s, it was a tiny farming community with a population of only about 100 people, served by the Glen Ellyn post office.
The town was originally called Glendale due to its proximity to Glen Ellyn and Bloomingdale.
